Training & Development Manager


The Training & Development Manager is responsible for delivering training; promoting the skill advancement and education of employees; improving the productivity of the organization's employees by assessing developmental needs to drive training initiatives; identifying suitable training solutions; actively searching and creatively designing and implementing effective methods to educate, enhance and recognize performance.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities    

  • Assesses knowledge and skill of the employees and plans/designs appropriate training programmes and materials after taking these assessments into consideration
  • Uses the assessments as benchmarks and offers evidence of the effectiveness of specific training
  • Analyses and targets the company’s learning needs and goals and charts plans to execute these goals
  • Plans and details the training strategy, objectives and timelines in order to create a developed and great curriculum
  • Delivers training sessions and refresher training for all staff as required
  • Communicates topics effectively by properly understanding the needs of the trainees and targets the sessions to meet their education level and skill
  • Develops and maintains organizational communications to ensure employees have knowledge of training and development events and resources
  • Manages training department process, including the financial system and human resources
  • Develops training budget and monitors expenditure
  • Develops and manages succession plan for key positions
  • Conducts follow-up studies of all completed training to evaluate and measure results
  • Obtains/develops effective training materials utilizing a variety of media



  • A bachelor’s degree in Communications with emphasis on Training & Development or a related field
  • At least five (5) years’ experience in a similar capacity
  • Working knowledge of team development concepts and practices
  • Ability to assess training needs and develop strategic plan accordingly
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software
  • Strong organisational and interpersonal skills
  • High level of enthusiasm, professionalism and ethical standards
  • A roll-up-your-sleeves attitude, sense of empathy, and passion for work are essential in this role

Candidates must be highly organized and have strong oral and written communication skills; good presentation skills; excellent leadership.  They must be results oriented with the ability to multitask and work competently under pressure.
